Falz Continues His Unflinching  Storytelling Streak with ‘The Feast.”

Storytelling, lyrical sharpness, cultural pride, and political consciousness- these are the cornerstones of Falz’s artistic identity. And with The Feast, he doesn’t just continue that streak, he deepens it.

Falz has long stood in spaces where not many others dare to. Whether it’s tackling systemic issues, celebrating Nigerian nuance, or rapping with tongue-in-cheek Yoruba brilliance, his contributions often feel under-celebrated, but never unfelt.

Let’s begin with the cover art, a play on the iconic Last Supper painting, a sweeping banquet-style table that stretches from edge to edge, crowded with a kaleidoscope of characters locked in mid-action—from roaring laughter and whispered secrets to phone selfies and animated gesturing. Golden-hour light filters through, illuminating champagne flutes, hookahs, scattered jollof plates, and flamboyant outfits. It’s a vibrant, modern-day reimagining of the Last Supper—chaotic, celebratory, and distinctly Lagos.

The project explores a broad emotional spectrum while remaining cohesive in spirit. Tracks like  Old Soja” (feat.. Majeeed) beautify the project with a parade-like, chant-infused energy, delivered with melody. It’s nostalgic and fresh at the same time, setting the tone for what’s to come.“Anything Goes” brings in Odumodublvck for a raw, high-tempo hip-hop bounce. It’s gritty, real, and unmistakably Lagos, loud horns, busy streets, fast hustle, and sharp edges. The song champions the chaos and beauty of metropolitan life and the everyday stories within it. “No Less” slides in like a warm evening breeze. It fuses Fuji, Caribbean bounce, and party rhythms into a genre-fluid anthem that feels like modern folklore. Classic Falz: festive, layered, and still telling stories.“Famomi” (feat. Dotti the Deity) slows things down with romantic energy. “Famomi”. meaning “Hug Me” or “come closer”  is a love song that mixes Yoruba and English to drive home a universal message of intimacy and closeness. It’s soft, heartfelt, and beautifully restrained. “Slow Down” (feat. Qing Madi) feels like a flipped sample of a soul classic. Qing Madi steals the spotlight in the best way, her entrance is commanding yet gentle. She glides over the beat while Falz steps back just enough to let her brilliance shine, showing a confidence that doesn’t need to dominate.

“Wonderfully Made” (feat.. Oiza x Meyi) is a standout. The sister duo brings warmth and honesty to a track that celebrates being perfectly crafted, flaws, fears, beauty, and all. It feels like affirmation in music form, and the synergy between the three is seamless.

The Feast isn’t just a collection of songs, it’s a full-course experience. Falz invites us into a soundscape that’s rooted in history but designed for right now. With each project, he sharpens his pen and widens his lens, but his mission remains clear: to speak, to reflect, and to uplift. And once again, he serves it with intention and soul.

This project is not just for listening, it’s for sitting with, for thinking through, and for coming back to. With The Feast, Falz proves once again that storytelling is his superpower, and he’s serving it with substance.
