If you love New Music Fridays just as much as we do, our Apple Music and Spotify playlists should be your go-to playlist for this weekend. We’ve got our Top Picks of the new stuff that’s dropped across the continent this week.

Stonebwoy – Blessing ft. Vic Mensa (GH)

Blessings for the days ahead to you and yours. Stonebwoy and Vic Mensa together on this melodious reggae vibes is the perfect way to close out the week.

Chop Life Crew – Dexter ft. Mojo, Prettyboy DO, Masiano (NG)

Nigerian alternative music collective, Chop Life Crew features one of their own on this hip-hop song and enlists the help of Prettyboy DO and Masiano to deliver some of the hardest verses you will hear today. The energy on this song is chilled and the lyrics keeps your ears locked down till the song ends.

Cornelius SA, Kamanda & Dee Cee – iLanga ft. Lady X (SA)

Some of Pretoria’s finest musicians team up to serve us this beautiful, melodious house song.

Tay Iwar – YOGA ft. Asa (NG)

Tay Iwar releases new EP titled ‘Love and Isolation’ and he features Asa on this calm and soothing song titled ‘YOGA’. Perfect for meditation as the title implies, the song is about wanting to relax and get lost in your fantasies.

P Montana – Money Calling ft. Kofi Jamar, Suspect OTB (GH)

See the money is calling… Let these niggas know I got it for days… Tell them no joking’. This song is perfect for braggadocio. You want to remind people that your money is up? Put this song on repeat!

Falz – Squander Remix ft. Niniola, Seyfar, Kamo Mphela, Mpura (NG)

Falz makes his debut into the South African music scene with the remix of his hit single ‘Squander’ on which he features South Africa’s Kamo Mphela and Mpura and the Nigerian queen of house music, Niniola who was on the original song. The featured artistes come through as expected, adding extra sauce on the already seasoned song, that will get you dancing in no time.

Kid Fonque – Somewhere (Soulis Sarris) Remix ft. Jadiene Veda (SA)

Kid Fonque releases three new versions of his popular single ‘Somewhere’ featuring Jadiene Veda and a personal favorite on the remixes is the Soulis Sarris remix. The beats, the drums, the bass guitar and everything else just comes together and makes you feel alright.

Camidoh – Available ft. Eugy (GH)

Camidoh and Eugy express how they want to give all their time and attention to their love interests. One detail I find interesting is how the chorus is quite catchy.

Asake – Don’t Hype Me (NG)

Mr Money delivers energetic lyrics on this trumpet laden House inspired beat, produced by Magic Sticks about he wants to spoil his muse in any way she wants.

Omawumi – Bullshit (NG)

Omawumi returns with this socio conscious Afrobeats song about how most people are getting used to all the messed up things going on in Nigeria despite complaining everyday.

Khuli Chana – Buyile ft. Tyler ICU, Stino Le Thwenny, Lady Du (SA)

Khuli Chana once again reminds his listeners that he is brave enough to sample the new South African Amapiano sound and as expected, he killed it! Can’t wait to see this one become a major hit song in the South African music scene.
